چکیده

Music and dance appear to have a social bonding effect, which some theorized is part of their ultimate evolutionary function. Prior research has also found effect synchronized movement, it possible that interpersonal synchrony could be considered the “active ingredient” in consequences music or activity. The present study aimed separate effects from other factors associated with joint experience dancing by using “silent disco” manipulation, timing musical stimulus was varied within dyad freestyle setting. Three conditions were included: synchrony, tempo-shifted (in tempo stretched 5% for one participant), phase-shifted beat offset 90 degrees participant). It that, when participants listening time each other, they gave higher subjective ratings interacting partner. Participants observed looking towards more condition, compared non-synchrony conditions. From this, appears sharing may contribute dancing, independent any space on dancefloor. Avenues further research, possibilities this paradigm, are discussed.

This paper presents the LoopJam installation which allows participants to interact with a sound map using a 3D computer vision tracking system. The sound map results from similarity-based clustering of sounds. The playback of these sounds is controlled by the positions or gestures of participants tracked with a Kinect depth-sensing camera. The beat-inclined bodily movements of participants in t...
